Forestry +F Refresher
Update courses
The Health and Safety Executive highly recommend that all chainsaw users undertake a refresher chainsaw course every 5 years with occasional users every 3 years.
The Forest Industry Safety Accord state that it is the the responsibility of the operator to remain compliant with FISA regulations.
Recently there have been a number of training companies and colleges offering their own inhouse chainsaw refresher courses. Unless these are Lantra approved refresher courses, any certificates of competencey are fabricated by the company and will have no recognised accreditation.
Problems will arise in the event of an accident, audit or investigation because it is unlikely that these home made refresher courses will be deemed as suitable by the HSE.
