NPTC Unit 202 (CS31) Felling Small Trees up to 380mm
NPTC unit 202 – CS31 – 4-day course Felling and Processing of Trees up to 380mm
NPTC Unit 202 – Qualification: 0039-21
The Felling & Processing Trees up to 380mm course (formerly CS31) covers site safety and risk assessment, assessing individual trees for hazards, standard felling cuts, and specialist cuts for trees that lean backward slightly or lean forward severely. Inevitably trees will sometimes get hung up, so the candidate is shown how to take down hung-up trees safely and is also taught why certain procedures are unsafe and should not be used. The processing of felled trees is then covered, including correct de-limbing and cross-cutting to length and understanding tension and compression in felled timber.
This course is run over 4-days. The NPTC Assessments are taken following training, on the next assessment day available (where possible), the candidate is then assessed by an independently appointed NPTC Assessor, and successful candidates will receive an NPTC Certificate of Competence and NPTC Skills card.
