NPTC 201 (CS30) Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting Course
NPTC 201 (CS30) – 2-Day Lantra Course with NPTC Assessment.
The first day of this Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting Course takes place in our workshop and takes the candidate through risk assessments, health and safety legislation, personal protective equipment and chainsaw maintenance (including chain identification and sharpening). The second day is spent in a local forest and covers site safety, pre-start checks, start procedures, correct stance and grip, cross-cutting, removing a trapped saw from the log and moving and stacking produce.
Following training, the candidate is then assessed by an independently appointed NPTC Assessor and successful candidates will receive an NPTC Certificate of Competence & NPTC Skills Card.
This course is 2-day Training course followed by 1-day NPTC Assessment
NPTC Assessment – 0039-20 – Unit 201
The NPTC Assessment is divided into 2 compulsory sections.
- – Maintenance of the chainsaw
- – On-site preparation and basic crosscutting

Course fee: £500 pp (inc VAT)
Maximum 4 people.
10% discount on net training cost is available if a client provides all 4 trainees for the course.
Felling equipment and saws are available for use by candidates who do not yet have their own equipment. Please contact the office for cost.
